The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is an initiative by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) aimed at providing discounts on internet service and devices for eligible low-income households.

Who is eligible for the Affordable Connectivity Program?

Eligibility for the Affordable Connectivity Program is determined based on specific criteria. Individuals or households can qualify under the following conditions:

Participation in Federal Assistance Programs: Applicants can qualify if they are currently enrolled in one of the following federal assistance programs:

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

  • Medicaid

  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

  • WIC

  • Federal Public Housing Assistance

  • Veterans Pension or Survivors Benefit

  • Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program, including at U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Community Eligibility Provision schools.

  • Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year

  • Income Criteria: Individuals or households with an income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines may qualify. The specific income thresholds vary based on the household size.

  • Tribal-specific assistance programs (specific criteria apply)

Residents of Qualifying Tribal Lands: Residents of Tribal lands may qualify under specific tribal criteria, which might differ from general eligibility guidelines.

How do I apply for the program?

Eligible individuals can apply through participating service providers or directly through the program's online portal. Applicants may need to provide necessary documentation to verify eligibility.

If I qualify for the program, what kind of device can I receive, and how much will it cost?

Eligible households may have the option to receive either a free phone or a tablet for a $20 copay. This copay will be covered by us so you don't have to worry about any payments, allowing qualified participants to access a device essential for connectivity at NO cost.

Will the tablets and phones provided through the program come pre-connected with service and internet?

Yes, devices distributed through the Affordable Connectivity Program will come pre-connected with both service and internet. Eligible individuals receiving phones or tablets won't have to pay anything additionally to activate or access the service, ensuring immediate connectivity upon receiving the device.

Will I need to pay for shipping if I qualify for the program and receive a device?

No, eligible participants will not be required to pay for shipping. The program covers the shipping costs associated with delivering the device, ensuring that qualified individuals can access the benefits without any additional expenses.

How long will it take to receive the tablets or phones if I qualify for the program?

Once eligibility is confirmed, it typically takes approximately 3 to 5 business days for eligible individuals to receive their tablets or phones. This timeframe may vary slightly depending on the location and shipping logistics, but efforts are made to ensure a prompt delivery of devices to qualified participants. Providing the accurate and complete address in the application is crucial to ensure the correct and timely delivery of tablets or phones.

Can I still receive a tablet if i already got one through the Affordable Connectivity Program in my household?

If you have already received a tablet in your household, you will not be eligible for an additional tablet. However, you can still qualify for a phone under the Affordable connectivity Program & the Lifeline Program.  We strive to provide diverse options to meet the needs of eligible individuals within a household.

Is there a limit to the benefits a household can receive?

Yes, each household can receive one monthly service discount and one device discount through the Affordable Connectivity Program.

How long does the discount last?

The program discount will continue until the program's funding is exhausted or the FCC determines the program should end.

Is my personal information secure when applying for the program?

Yes, your personal information provided during the application process is extra secure and handled under the guidelines of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
